Siemens plans to make Polarion X, its next-generation application lifecycle management (ALM) software-as-a-service (SaaS), available on Microsoft’s cloud and AI platform Azure. This collaboration is a continued expansion of the companies' enduring partnership. Polarion X on Azure offers a secure, scalable, intelligent ALM solution  for regulated and safety-critical industries.

Polarion X orchestrates the entire software engineering toolchain. Through integration with Azure DevOps and Siemens’ solutions like Polarion X, Teamcenter software for product lifecycle management (PLM), Designcenter software for product engineering, Opcenter manufacturing execution software (MES) and Insights Hub, Polarion X provides a unified environment where software requirements, code, builds, tests, deployments and compliance converge.

“Polarion X on Azure represents a major leap forward in how industrial organizations manage complexity, compliance, and collaboration when developing mission-critical software,” says Frances Evans, senior vice president, Lifecycle Collaboration Software, Siemens Digital Industries Software. “Together with Microsoft, we’re enabling our customers to harness trusted AI and cloud scalability to transform their application development processes.”

“Siemens’ Polarion X on Azure is empowering manufacturers to accelerate innovation and time-to-market with secure, AI-driven product lifecycle management and design solutions - delivering the scalability and compliance needed in today’s market,” says Dayan Rodriguez, corporate vice president, Manufacturing and Mobility, Microsoft.

Key Capabilities

  • AI-powered assistance with Azure OpenAI: Copilot for smart requirement analysis, automated trace links, risk detection and predictive insights.
  • Unified lifecycle and traceability: End-to-end requirements management with lifecycle traceability, integrated change and configuration control, and versioning to ensure audit readiness and a single source of truth
  • Cloud-enabled collaboration and scalability: Secure, global access through Microsoft Azure with real-time collaboration for distributed teams
  • Integrated engineering and model-based systems engineering (MBSE): Central orchestration of toolchains (including Azure DevOps) and support for MBSE (including integration with Teamcenter) to manage complexity across the development lifecycle
