Siemens has announced Expedite for Vets, a new U.S. workforce development initiative designed to help active-duty military personnel and veterans translate their skills into civilian careers in advanced manufacturing, digital engineering, automation and infrastructure.
Siemens is offering free access for up to 5,000 U.S. service members and veterans to its industry-aligned Expedite – Skills for Industry, creating a pathway from military service to in-demand technical roles across American industry.
Though veterans and service members have often developed leadership, discipline and deep technical experience to the workforce they often face difficulty translating those capabilities into credentials useful with civilian employers. Siemens’ microcredential program is intended to help bridge that gap through free, ABET-recognized, early-career engineering credentials focused on real-world industrial applications.
The microcredential is designed to be completed online in weeks or months, providing veterans with a faster, more flexible route into the industrial workforce.

Siemens has partnered with Vets2PM, a Department of Defense SkillBridge Program provider and upskill training partner, to reach thousands of experienced veterans and transitioning service members.

Expedite for Vets builds on Siemens’ commitment to the military community while advancing a national priority of strengthening America’s industrial workforce and economic resilience, SIemens reports.
The initiative combines digital coursework, mentorship and a pre-apprenticeship model aligned to advanced manufacturing and digitalization challenges. By pairing skills-based hiring with verified, industry aligned credentials, Siemens is aiding employers in recognizing, recruiting, and retaining veteran talent in the modern industrial economy.
