Siemens PLM Software Expands at Toyota

The choice to initially use a safety information system is a result of the International Safety Organization publishing the ISO 26262 Functional Safety standard. This ruling defines functional safety for automotive equipment throughout electronic and electric systems.

Toyota stated that it adopted Teamcenter because of its widespread use in the global manufacturing industry and Siemens' open policy for product lifecycle management (PLM) technology. According to a company press release, the use of Teamcenter enhanced collaboration between multiple divisions and significantly improved traceability management.
