Siemens PLM Software has announced that LIG Nex1, which develops and produces a range of electronic systems, has selected Siemens PLM Software’s NX software, a digital product development solution; and Teamcenter software, a digital lifecycle management solution, to drive productivity improvements in product development through enhanced collaboration and process efficiency.

LIG Nex1’s business expansion, along with the ongoing increase in product complexity, significantly increased the need for a scalable PLM solution. Following a validation process, LIG Nex1 selected Siemens PLM Software technology to support its goals. LIG Nex1 deployed NX and Teamcenter to innovate its product design environment and manage process knowledge.

According tot Siemens, Teamcenter has provided LIG Nex1 with productivity improvements across its operations and helped the company standardize many tasks. It has enabled an increase in collaboration, resulting in the continuous capture of product development knowledge and experience, and serves as a catalyst that enables inspection in each department in order to achieve project goals. Overall, Siemens says Teamcenter has helped LIG Nex1 achieve a 30% time and cost savings in product development enterprise-wide, and its enhanced collaboration capabilities helped accelerate the production process while at the same time reduce process errors by more than 50%.

In addition, NX provides LIG Nex1 the ability to manage all development aspects of mechatronics components, including mechanical and electrical computer-aided design, through a single source.

“Siemens PLM Software’s technology has helped LIG Nex1 to produce the most sophisticated products in today’s market,” says Wan Ki Jeong, senior manager, LIG Nex1. “Teamcenter serves as the foundation for our PLM system, enabling the management of multiple MCAD and ECAD tools including NX. The seamless collaboration afforded by Teamcenter has cut the number of design errors in half compared to previous systems. This has resulted in improved productivity and product quality.”
