ZWSOFT has announced that the next version of ZWCAD will include a different ribbon interface and SmartMouse, the mouse gestures developed by ZWSOFT.

With SmartMouse, users just need to hold down the right mouse button, and move the mouse on a certain track to trigger frequently used commands such as NEW, CIRCLE and MOVE, which will help speed up the design process. Moreover, users can customize commands for different mouse actions.

In the next version of ZWCAD, the ribbon panel is designed to have "just enough" buttons and let them all show on the panel, which the company says "brings simplicity to the whole interface."

ZWSOFT conducted a survey to determine the most efficient button arrangement. This survey asked CAD users from all over the world in the AEC and MCAD industries about their user experience and habits.

The ribbon interface focuses on users having a more comfortable user experience. The icons look flat instead of stereoscopic, which helps ease visual fatigue after working long hours.
