SigmaTEK Systems (Cincinnati, OH) announced that SolidNEST is now available for direct integration with SolidWorks 2008.

SolidNEST is an automatic nesting and NC programming solution for sheet-metal and profile-cutting machines that runs inside the familiar SolidWorks interface. It provides a seamless translation from a 3D SolidWorks assembly to NC code for laser, plasma, oxyfuel, waterjet, router, and punching, all without leaving the SolidWorks interface.

With SolidNEST 08, the highly customizable SolidWorks 2008 can be used with ease and speed to generate NC codes that are ready to be used by almost any profile-cutting machine. SolidNEST eliminates the need to export design components into a CAM software system for additional processing.

By offering automatic nesting, SolidNEST ensures optimal utilization of material, allowing more parts to be produced from less material. It ensures machine motion optimization by using Advanced NC Programming to minimize machine cycle time and increase the production capacity of existing equipment. SolidNEST also uses advanced part sequencing functions to create the most optimal cutting path possible.

The streamlined production and advanced NC toolpath generation ensure that cutting-machine output is maximized.
