Sonnet Technologies, Inc. (Irvine, CA), a computer hardware upgrade company with products ranging from high-performance, cost-effective, and reliable storage solutions, to performance-extending upgrade cards.

The company will be showing several products at IBC2008 (Sept. 12-16, Amsterdam) including the new Fusion F2 1TB Portable Storage System.

Sonnet is introducing a new higher capacity and performance 1TB model of its 640GB Fusion F2 portable two-drive RAID SATA storage system, which is said to be a small yet fast solution for storage in film/video editing and professional content capture applications.

The system's two 500GB/5400 rpm 2.5-inch drives are mounted side-by-side in a rugged aluminum enclosure just a bit larger than two stacked CD cases, ensuring secure storage in a low-profile design measuring just 5.9 inches by 6.2 inches by 0.72 inches.

Sonnet's Fusion F2 features two eSATA data connections, draws its power from a computer's FireWire port, and is designed for use with the Sonnet Tempo SATA ExpressCard/34 host adapter for MacBook Pro and PC notebooks. Fusion F2 is suited for use on location as well as in the office, offering flexibility and interoperability to support Mac OS X, Windows Vista, Windows XP Professional, and Linux. It is compatible with several capture cards and works with all mainstream media editing applications, including Apple Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro CS3.

Other existing products being shown at IBC2008 include the Fusion D800RAID and R800RAID With Controller Card, the Fusion R400Q and D400Q SATA Quad Interface Storage Systems, storage systems such Fusion R400Q and D400Q, the Tempo SATA E4P PCI Express host controller and the Tempo SATA X4P PCI-X card and the Tempo SATA ExpressCard/34.
