Rapid prototyping of retail- and shelf-ready packaging is now available at the Encase Test Drive Center in the United Kingdom (LeedsWest, Yorkshire, UK).

Customers arriving with a “blank sheet” can leave the same day with a completed design and rapid-prototyped production-ready sample.

Encase, a company specializing in corrugated board engineering, developed this service for the retail supermarket, white and brown goods, component manufacture, automotive chemicals, logistics, technology, and DIY industries.

Encase’s design and graphics services and cutting equipment are enhanced by advanced Internet-based video conferencing. While a design progresses, rotating 3D images can be seen remotely off site, real time input. Online review aims to cut total design development time to the absolute minimum.

Encase’s design process optimizes packaging for production, dispatch, transport, storage, distribution, delivery, display, and recycling. The company’s corrugated packaging is environmentally friendly, 85 percent recycled, non-toxic, and biodegradable. A modern, high-strength performance packaging, EcoWall corrugated board supplies the demand for machine and automotive parts packaging and removal and storage packaging.

While visiting the Test Drive Center, customers, suppliers, and staff can review alternative, shelf-ready packaging solutions for transport and retail display. Encase develops packaging solutions that take into consideration the need for pallet sizing, for the most economic use of transport; the most efficient use of supermarket shelf and retail space; factory dispatching; and warehousing.

Encase training services include on-the-job learning in real time. The popular “It’s Only a Box” training course offers the opportunity for customers, suppliers, and staff to jointly participate in learning best-practice solutions for package development, production, design, use, and recycling.
