TOSCA Fluid 2.3.0, topology optimization software for fluid flow systems and components, is now available from FE-DESIGN and its international resellers. According to the company, the use of TOSCA Fluid early in the design process helps engineers maximize flow efficiency, reduce cost, and improve reliability. Shortcomings in a design concept can also be identified and resolved early.

In addition to typical applications such as reducing pressure drop and increasing flow efficiency, more sophisticated tasks such as mass flow balancing, reduction of flow instabilities, and reducing flow-induced noise and vibration can also be solved, the company says. Applicable industries include automotive, energy, medical devices, HVAC, chemical and process.

TOSCA Fluid enables engineers to achieve higher eco-efficiency. Only one CFD solver run is necessary for an optimization. TOSCA Fluid communicates directly with standard commercial CFD solvers. Existing CFD models can be used immediately.

TOSCA Fluid 2.3.0 contains tools for reconstruction of the final optimized design. Interpretation and reconstruction is enhanced by better smoothing technology, with an improved shrinkage correction feature, and more flexible creation of wireframe geometry.
