The TC78H610FNG is an H bridge driver for low-voltage brushed DC motors. It can reduce the mounting area by 21% due to its SSOP16 packaging, enabling a lower PCB (printed circuit board) cost and equipment size. It offers control of two brushed motor or one stepping motor, and can operate with a voltage range from 2.5 to 15V output.
The TB67Z800FTG is a three channel half-bridge driver that has six double-diffused MOSFETs, and can control three-phase brushless DC motors while operating at 4 to 22V maximum output. It is packaged in a 5 x 5 x 0.9 mm VQFN package. This configuration allows the TB67Z800FTG to be mounted on a small cooling fan with its radiation pad for cooling.
Both devices incorporate over-current detection, thermal shutdown circuitry and an under-voltage lockout circuit.
"Manufacturers need robust, flexible motor driver ICs to help them optimize their end products' size and performance. Toshiba has introduced these additions to our motor driver IC portfolio to broaden the range of options available to our customers," said Deepak Mithani, senior director, Mixed Signal Business Unit at Toshiba.
