Trek Bicycle selects Cadasio.com, an online platform for presenting assembly instructions in 3D.

Trek, a company dedicated to bicycle design and manufacturing, has added Cadasio to its toolkit for the purpose of improving collaboration and communication between its teams and partners worldwide.

“Trek is about innovation, solving complex problems and helping people use bikes for transportation, recreation and inspiration,” says Chad Manuell, global director of Engineering, Trek. “We selected Cadasio for its intuitive interface, ease of use and powerful tools to publish 3D content online. Also for its tight integration with leading edge CAD systems.”

Cadasio introduces a way of presenting assembly and service instructions online in 3D. Existing CAD data can be imported directly via add-ins for popular applications such as Onshape, SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360 and Solid Edge.

Files can then be manipulated to create animated step by step assembly instructions which can be published online.  End users can access instructions for free by sharing a web link, a QR code generated by Cadasio or by embedding them into your own webpage.

When the instructions are presented in Cadasio you can rotate around step 4 and zoom in and out to really make sure that it’s clear what you need to do.
