3D Systems Corporation (Rock Hill, S. C.), provider of 3D modeling, rapid prototyping and direct manufacturing solutions announced that Acu-Cast Technologies, LLC, a leading PSP, purchased its third and fourth ViperT Pro SLA Systems from 3D Systems. The purchase doubles Acu-Cast’s Pro Parts manufacturing capabilities for its customers for the second time in five months.

Acu-Cast has experienced increased demand for Pro Parts since it installed its first ViperT Pro SLA System in October 2007. That initial purchase led to a second system in December 2007. What Acu-Cast has discovered is that the ViperT Pro SLA System manufactures parts with higher definition, details, accuracy, surface finish and large part size comparable to that of CNC machining. Without the ViperT Pro System, Acu-Cast could not keep up with the demand for larger parts that require exceptional detail delivered quickly. Acu-Cast also uses 3D Systems' Accura Materials for quick, precision prototyping.
