UberCloud, an organization for cloud computing research, has added several high-performance application containers on its online marketplace. These containers are portable between in-house and cloud environments and enable access to applications.

The added containers are for ANSYS Mechanical, Fluent, CFX, Workbench, Icepak, EM, LS-DYNA, LS-PrePost, CD-adapco STAR-CCM+ and OpenFOAM.

“These packages are designed to deliver the tools that an engineer needs to complete his task in hand. The ISV (independent software vendors) or Open Source tools are pre-installed, configured, and tested, and can be run on bare metal, without loss of performance that hypervisors create,” said Wolfgang Gentzsch, president, UberCloud.

Case studies featuring ANSYS, CD-adapco and OpenFOAM can be downloaded here.
