VCollab Announces CAE Data Export Tool

By DE Editors

February 20, 2015

VCollab, a provider of 3D visual collaboration solutions, has added the ability to export CAE models and results data into PDF files. In the VCollab platform, users can export from software such as ANSYS, MSC Nastran, Dassault Systèmes' ABAQUS, LS DYNA, Fluent, STAR-CCM+, CFX, FE SFAE, nCode and others.

With this feature, VCollab can add the model, deformed shape, simulation result and the CAE BOM (bill of materials) to the PDF. This enhancement, the company states, helps engineers distribute results throughout organizations in a widely used documentation and collaboration format.

“Simulation has become a strategic tool in many organizations,” said Prasad Mandava, CEO of VCollab. “With the option to create 3D PDF in addition to the CAX models, simulation results can now be communicated to even more people involved in product development. Simulation reports are no longer restricted to 2D images either, bringing them more in line with today’s 3D processes.”

The feature is immediately available for the professional version of the software.
