Velocity Micro unveils the new Raptor S55, which is redesigned with Intel Core Ultra, RTX 5070 Ti graphics, and a 16-in. 2560x1600 240Hz display with G-Sync, all in a chassis that's 0.75-in. thick and less than 5 lbs. Velocity Micro says it is designed for work, home, and play.
The Raptor S55 features processing power for overall performance, according to Velocity Micro. Sporting 24 cores, working at up to 5.4GHz, the Core Ultra series of processors is fast and extends battery life, the company claims.
With the RTX 5070 Ti using NVIDIA's Blackwell architecture users get quick graphics processing and AI-powered enhancements, Velocity Micro claims. Experience ray-traced graphics, rapid frame rates, and streaming; perform faster data visualization and analysis and shrink render times, Velocity Micro shares.
Velocity Micro revamped the thermals of the S55 by eschewing traditional heat pipes for a modern vapor chamber heatsink. This new design is intended to better distribute the heat created by the CPU, GPU, and VRMs to vastly reduce hotspots and improve overall cooling for better performance and longevity, according to Velocity Micro.
The S55 features next-gen I/O like 2.5GB LAN port, 2 x Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2 Gen 2, and Wifi 7, keeping users connected both wired and wirelessly to the network and devices at fast speeds.
