Visual Numerics, Inc. (VNI; Houston, TX) announced an OEM agreement with SAP AG (Walldorf, Germany) in which the Visual Numerics' IMSL C Numerical Library version 6.0 will be embedded into the SAP NetWeaver platform.

The IMSL C Library will be integrated into TREX — a structured and unstructured data processing component of SAP NetWeaver — providing the TREX engine with functions for data analytics such as outlier detection, dependency analysis, and forecasting. SAP applications that use the TREX engine will benefit from this new embedded functionality.

Increasingly advanced analytics such as predictive forecasting have become an important requirement for process-embedded, intelligent analytic applications. Therefore, the analytics technology needs to be an integral element of the underlying SAP NetWeaver platform. SAP NetWeaver also serves as the foundation for a range of solutions for performance management, addressing the specific financial and operational needs of customers in over 25 industries.
