The Other Solutions (Meridian, ID) announced a new generation of affordable wide-format scanners, saying that they offer twice the optical resolution of the nearest competitor, plus a two-year, unmatched onsite warranty for quick return on investment. The new GTCO Calcomp Scan Plus 7 S (Superior) Series is said to be an affordable range of user-friendly scanners offering all-new, state-of-the-art CIS technology.

The S Series is suited for customers who primarily scan technical documents and maps. Combining powerful scanning technology and walk-up simplicity, the scanners increase productivity and simplify scan-to-file and scan-to-print tasks for in-house users, eliminating the need to send scanning jobs out of house. The S Series also serves copy shops with high-volume technical document archiving projects.

The S Series’ ability to separate fine lines and details in technical documents delivers the sharpness that customers in architecture, engineering, construction (AEC); geographic information systems (GIS); and copy and reprographics shops require.

At 44 inches, the S Series is the widest and least expensive scanner when compared to any other CIS scanner on the market. And with 1,200 dpi optical resolution and intelligent image cleanup, the scanners effectively capture all fine lines and details. Their lightweight design of 66 lbs. also offers mobility.
