3D Systems Expands MultiJet Printing Capabilities

The company has released a new printer and several new materials.

3D Systems, a provider of prototyping systems, has expanded its MultiJet portfolio with the ProJet MJP 3600. The company has also updated its ProJet MJP 5500X system.

The ProJet MJP 3600, 3D Systems states, is two times faster than the previous generation and can support files up to 250% larger. It also includes models for printing detailed wax patterns for jewelry casting and precise patterns for other lost wax foundry casting applications. It also answers the need in dental applications for precise models and casting wax ups. With the ability to print in USP Class VI capable, bio-compatible materials, the ProJet MJP 3600 can be used in advanced healthcare applications, including drill and cut guides for dental and medical procedures.

Additionally, two new elastomeric materials are available for the ProJet MJP 5500X. The VisiJet CE-BK and VisiJet CE-NT offer 650% elongation properties, tear resistance and elastic recovery.

According to a company press release, this update to 3D Systems’ MJP portfolio demonstrates the company’s commitment to provide the most capable and accessible MJP technology for professional product design, prototyping and manufacturing across a variety of industries.
