The 3D-Tool CAD-Viewer is a universal, user-friendly tool for evaluating and coordinating 3D designs throughout the company. The user-friendly implementation of practical requirements is the focus of development. In addition to new, modern designs and optimized functions, many customer requests relating to the 3D tool measuring functions have been implemented in version 15.
3D-Tool now calculates the minimum bounding box of parts and models. Dimensions in the exploded model are now possible and are automatically hidden and shown when moving parts. In addition, the user can hide and show individual dimensions and save this status for different detailed views of the model. There is a list with detailed information on all notes and dimensions. This list can be copied to the clipboard for the use in other applications.
3D-Tool is available in three versions ranging in price from 150 to 600 euros. 3D-Tool Basic opens STL, 3DS, VRML and other 3D visualization formats. The 3MF format is now supported. 3D-Tool Advanced supports the 3D exchange formats STEP, IGES, VDA, SAT and Parasolid. 3D-Tool Premium is required for native CAD models from CATIA, Siemens NX, Creo, SolidWorks, SolidEdge and Inventor as well as for the JT format.
The 3D-NativeCAD Converter, included in 3D-Tool Premium, serves as a universal and flexible interface by allowing the conversion of 3D models from the most important CAD systems into the 3D exchange formats STEP, IGES, VDA, SAT and Parasolid.
3D-Tool publishes 3D models in the 3D-Tool format DDD and in the 3D PDF format for Adobe Reader. For DDD files, there is the FreeViewer available on the 3D-Tool website. Alternatively, 3D-Tool bundles the FreeViewer and the model into a directly executable EXE-file for Windows. The FreeViewer and the EXE files contain all the important measurement and analysis functions of the full version.
The full functionality of the 3D-Tool CAD-Viewer and Converter may be tested for 14 days. The software and further information can be found on the 3D-Tool website.
