Airwolf 3D Launches AXIOM Desktop Printer

Airwolf 3D has launched the new AXIOM desktop printer. The system has features such as auto leveling, an "easy feed" filament system, enclosed housing for heat containment and the end-user replaceable cassette system for serviceability and upgradeability.

The AXIOM has a single, high temperature proprietary hot end for printing high-resolution prototypes in over 30 different thermoplastic materials. It sports a build envelope of 12.5 x 8 x 10 in. and can print as low as 40 microns. Supported materials include Nylon, polycarbonate, TPU and PLA (polylactic acid).

For printing setup, the AXIOM automatically calibrates the print bed. Users can also set up models through AstroPrint -- a cloud-based slicing and printer management system. Files can be sent through Wi-Fi, Ethernet, USB or micro SD card.

“We took a clean sheet of paper and set out to solve the issues that users have in operating desktop 3D printers,” said Erick Wolf, founder and chairman, Airwolf 3D. “The conceptualization, design and testing took us almost two years to get perfect and we could not be more pleased with the results. AXIOM offers higher resolution, more material capabilities and better ease-of-use than printers costing more than three times the price.”
