AVEVA Instrumentation 12.1 is an enhanced version of AVEVA's instrumentation and control engineering software. It is available for both plant and marine environments.

Like AVEVAs recently launched AVEVA Electrical, it has been designed and tested in close collaboration with AVEVA customers, who have demonstrated up to a 30% man-hour savings with the new product.

New functionality includes an improved intuitive and easy to use interface, with enhanced graphical engineering capabilities. This allows tabular data such as component references to be represented at the click of a button, increasing productivity.

AVEVA Instrumentation has proven to be a highly successful engineering product for AVEVA," said Bruce Douglas, senior vice president of marketing and product strategy at AVEVA. AVEVA Instrumentation integrates with AVEVA Electrical, which is a compelling piece of additional functionality to this platform. No other supplier provides such close synchronization between these two important disciplines enabling true integration.

AVEVA Instrumentation can be implemented stand-alone, as part of AVEVAs Integrated & Engineering Design approach, or with other third-party software.

AVEVA also announced that it has acquired the Bocad group of companies, which offers structural design applications. The strategic acquisition includes all companies in the Bocad group, bringing to AVEVA all IPR, employees, contracts and assets. AVEVA will establish a new Structural Design Centre of Excellence across Bocads two main offices in Bochum, Germany and Ocquier, Belgium, where it will continue to develop and support the Bocad software products.

The software developed through the Centre of Excellence will be tightly aligned with the AVEVA PDMS and AVEVA Marine solutions and will be sold through the AVEVA global sales force. The new combination will create a world-class engineering design offering for the plant, marine and fabrication markets.
