DAA Cuts Simulation Pre-Processing Time in Half,DAA Cuts Simulation Pre-Processing Time in Half

Engineering consulting firm Design Automation Associates (DAA) discovered that by using NX CAE and NX Nastran software, it could process simulations twice as fast for its clients.

After running into issues with slow processing times for finite element analysis (FEA), and hitting roadblocks when implementing design changes, the company tried a new approach—and switched its software.

According a company press release, the simulation time drastically improved because NX CAE's analysis model relies on geometry, and automatically updates to accommodate design changes. It also helped engineers preprocess analysis models up to 92% quicker.

“The heart of any successful project is the reliability of up-front schedule and cost estimates,” says John Lambert, president and CEO at DAA. “DAA made significant strides in reducing uncertainty and increasing flexibility using NX CAE.”

Siemens PLM Software published these findings in a case study, that is available online.
