DISCUS Software Company has announced the availability of DISCUS 5.0, an update to its flagship product. The release includes a new product, DISCUS CMM, a revamped DISCUS OCR product. The new DISCUS CMM software module allows quick extraction of measurement results directly from PCDMIS text CMM reports. It also enables import of results into CMM reports.

Discus 5.0

A new set of controls allows quality engineers to adjust settings to exact specification, extract detailed requirements from documentation, and populate inspection report part lists and product accountability information. DISCUS Basic and Planner modules, core DISCUS tools to manage the Technical Data Package, also receive updates in DISCUS 5.0. in the areas of inspection and manufacturing process plans.
