dSPACE, a solutions provider for embedded controls development headquartered in Paderborn, Germany, has been granted an award for its achievement in the development of automotive battery systems. An international jury consisting of members from automotive companies such as Lotus, Toyota Motorsport, Ginetta, Cayman Dynamics and Spyker awarded this year's “Hardware Innovation of the Year” prize to dSPACE.

According to the company, with dSPACE's products, the high-voltage batteries of electrical vehicles can be simulated with precision. This technology assists the creation of electric mobility that is designed for everyday use. dSPACE products receiving the award are being used by more than 20 international automobile manufacturers and suppliers worldwide to develop hybrid and electrical vehicles.

"dSPACE is a relatively young company that has consistently pushed the boundaries," summarized jury member Keith Read. "Its simulation of high-voltage batteries -- something the automotive industry really needs as it pushes EV development -- is a classic example.”
