With this release, developers can test vehicles, urban and rural road networks, surrounding vehicles and environmental objects including pedestrians and traffic signs. Part of the ASM library, users can also test active safety systems like autonomous emergency breaking and steering assistance.
ASM Traffic 3.0 also includes real-time-capable simulation model and graphical user interface (GUI) for defining components such as traffic signs, roads and sensors. Users can also import road information from other mapping and simulation tools. ASM Traffic gives ADAS development engineers unparalleled, flexible options for real-time simulation of traffic scenarios, the company states.
Version 3.0, when used with AutomationDesk, can further provide a set of tests for active safety functions according to the European New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP) protocol. These tests ensure the reaction time and deceleration of the vehicle is sufficient to avoid potential collisions.
