Creaform and Faurecia Autositze are working together on a software solution for the measurements and positioning of dummies. In the future, the companies say this software solution could be used together with the Creaform 3D metrology systems in Faurecia's factories in Germany, France and other countries, but could also find application in other industries and other countries.
Creaform's VXtrack dynamic tracking technology allows the creation of individual and customized solutions. The software for dummy positioning, which is currently developed with Faurecia Autositze, will allow simultaneous and real-time measurement of all 3D measurement points necessary for the alignment of dummies before the crash test. In combination with Creaform's portable, optical 3D measurement systems, the solution would provide a flexible and mobile system that could increase the accuracy of the measurement, according to the company.
Faurecia Autositze currently uses the HandyPROBE portable 3D CMM and a MetraSCAN 3D optical CMM scanner to analyze vehicle parts on the crash track.
