FISHER/UNITECH Acquires SolidWorks Software Business Unit from R&D Technologies

Customers will gain access to Enterprise PLM modules that are intended to complement SolidWorks PDM functionality.

FISHER/UNITECH has announced its acquisition of R&D Technologies Inc.’s SolidWorks software business. SolidWorks 3D CAD software provides tools for product design, validation, technical communications and data management.   R&D Technologies’ SolidWorks customers consist of manufacturing companies in all facets of discrete manufacturing.

Customers will have access to toll free phone, email and online support utilizing FISHER/UNITECH’s SupportExpress platform. SupportExpress provides customers with online case logging and tracking, a “virtual advisor” for remote technical support sessions, SELive for online troubleshooting, Knowledge Base access, and invitations to attend Power Users Clinics, Support Hour webinars, Night School and Update Training Seminars. SupportExpress also provides online bill paying and transaction history, an online catalog with secure shopping cart functionality and access to the Support Hour webinar archive.
