Granta Design has released GRANTA MI:Additive Manufacturing, a software designed to streamline data for parts made with additive manufacturing (AM). It incorporate industry best practices to manage material and process information.

The main feature of MI:Additive Manufacturing is a data structure that defines the types of data that can be captured in the system, their inter-relationships and how they are processed. It also automatically stores process parameters, logged data for specific builds, links supplier information to material data batches. Properties can be exported to simulation codes and results can be used for optimization and production.

“MI:Additive Manufacturing combines our core strength in materials information management with practical knowledge of Additive Manufacturing data gained from our collaborative projects, and work with some of our leading customers,” said Patrick Coulter, chief operating officer at Granta Design. “The great news is that this will allow us to help many other customers who have expressed an interest in additive manufacturing, and have been asking us for a solution to manage their data in this area.”
