HP Teams with BASF, Oechsler on Industrial 3D Printing

HP announced new alliances with both BASF and Oechsler to expand the advancement of industrial 3D printing and digital manufacturing.

The expanded alliance with BASF centers around HP’s newly announced polypropylene material for additive manufacturing. The HP 3D High Reusability PP enabled by BASF was developed and qualified for HP’s Jet Fusion 5200 Series 3D printing solution to enable companies to design and produce 3D printed parts faster, more cost-effectively, more sustainably, and at higher volumes, the company says.http://www.hp.com/go/3Dprinting.

The Forward AM team and HP are working with industry partners including Extol, GKN Powder Metallurgy/Forecast 3D, Henkel, Oechsler, and Prototal to jointly develop applications with the new PP on HP Jet Fusion 5200 3D printing systems.

The expanded alliance with Oechsler is focused on creating new applications for 3D printed parts in multiple industries.

Oechsler has installed a fleet of industrial grade HP Jet Fusion 5200 3D printers in its factory in Ansbach, Germany. Leveraging the platform’s advanced capabilities, HP and Oechsler are working with customers to jointly develop new applications using a range of advanced materials enabled by BASF including the new HP 3D High Reusability Polypropylene (PP) and ULTRASINT TPU01 thermoplastic polyurethane, according to a company press release. Oechsler is also the first to use the joint post-processing solution developed by Rösler for the HP Jet Fusion 5200 Series.
