IAR Systems Adds Support for Atmel's SAM D20 Microcontrollers

Series can be used in home automation, consumer, smart metering, and industrial applications.

IAR Systems announced development tools support for the ultra-low power SAM D20 microcontroller series from Atmel. Support is available using the high-performance tool suite IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM, which features optimizing build tools and debugging capabilities, including Power Debugging technology.

Atmel's SAM D20 series is based on the low-power ARM Cortex-M0+ core and integrates features such as high-precision 12-bit analog and internal oscillators, up to eight 16-bit timer/counters, real-time performance, peripheral event system, and flexible clocking options and sleep modes. The series are designed for use in home automation, consumer, smart metering and industrial applications.

The complete development toolchain IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM includes the IAR C/C++ Compiler, assembler, linker, librarian, text editor, project manager, and C-SPY Debugger.

Version 6.60 of the solution supports IAR Systems' I-scope probe, which is used together with the in-circuit debugging probe I-jet and adds capabilities for current and voltage measurements.
