ICAM Technologies is planning to launch the latest version of its its Integrated PSE software at the International Manufacturing Technology Show in September. The platform is an environment for post-processing, simulation and emulation for popular CAD/CAM/PLM (product lifecycle management) systems, CNC (computer numerically controlled) controllers and machine tools.

Version 21 has a variety of new features such as:

  • SmartFEED: This module adjust the cutting feed-rate to ensure a constant safe material removal rate.
  • SmartCUT: This module automatically adjusts cutting motions to eliminate unnecessary feed motions when the tool is not in contact with the material.
  • Multi-Setup: Provides support for Virtual Machine simulation of manufacturing processes that involve one or more changes of clamping and/or part location on the machine. It also automatically tracks the in process stock state as a part progresses from one manufacturing program to another.
  • Simulation Recording: Users can automatically record the complete post-processing and simulation session.
Users can also take advantage of the SmartPATH feature, which identifies inefficient and unsafe position motions and automatically replaces them with the optimized motions based on machine tool kinematics.
