Kontron, a provider of embedded computer technology, has expanded its portfolio to include servers and modules with the Intel Processor D-1500 product family. The company has also entered a value-added reseller agreement with Rauch Netzwertechnik.

The first set of products with the D-1500 family includes the COM Express COMe-bBD6, the Kontron VPX server blade VX3058 and SYMKLOUD. The Xeon-based processors, according to the company, provide enhancements in form factor, versatility, high availability and robustness. Kontron will offer its new products with 2 to 8 cores, support for Windows and Linux, and two ports of 10GbE Intel Ethernet options.

For the company's SYMKLOUD technology, the addition of the D-1500 processor family enables it to support up to nine modular servers. Kontron is releasing a 16 core count version of SYMKLOUD early next year. This version will be VMWare certified and have System-on-Chip (SoC) technology. It will have support for error-correcting code memory, Intel Virtualization Technology and Intel Advanced Encryption Standard.

To increase distribution of its SYMKLOUD, Kontron has entered a reseller agreement. Rausch Netzwerktechnik will start offering the 10GbE SYMKLOUD converged modular servers and a full suite of integration services.

“Aligning with Rausch Netzwerktechnik as a strategic Channel partner is pivotal to the Kontron growth strategy in the hosting and cloud provider markets,” said Thomas Feil, vice president of Channel Sales, Kontron. “The SYMKLOUD product line delivers the best price-performance ratio for data centers and, in turn, enables them to pass on any savings to their end customers so they can be more successful online.”
