July 11, 2016

Siemens PLM Software has released LMS Imagine.Lab 15, the latest release of its model-based systems engineering software. This version of LMS Imagine.Lab software provides a fully intuitive environment with a range of enhanced features such as powerful modeling and analysis tools, significantly improving its utility for both experts and non-experts throughout the design cycle. This enables engineering departments to develop higher-quality products faster, the company states.

Added features to Imagine.Lab 15 include interoperability with functional mockup interface (FMI) 2.0, Modelica object-oriented modeling language, an updated GUI (graphical user interfaces) and compatibility for co-simulation.

Also included are updates to Imagine.Lab Amesim, which has new ways to improve sketch readability and time on sketch building. These include automatic completion of expression fields, common submodel settings for components and model upgrades with a dedicated assistant.

HPC (high-performance capabilities) workflow management  To improve complex and multi-parameter simulation run workflows, LMS Amesim 15 provides you with HPC job submission and monitoring facilities.

According to Siemens, combining HPC management with LMS Amesim application programming interfaces (APIs), you can automatically define a full-design exploration based on thousands of parametrizations, simulate it on an HPC platform and postprocess the numerous resulting files in a simple script submission.
