Matereality v6.2 Released for Material Database Hosting

New frameworks can store compositions and processes.

March 18, 2013

Matereality v6.2 has been released. With this release users can now store additional information related to the material, its composition and manner of processing.

An extensible framework has been created to store the composition of the material for which properties have been tested. For metals, the composition of the allow can be stored. For filled plastics, the composition of polymer; particle filler; glass or carbon fiber, including fiber dimensional details and mechanical properties; flame retardant and colorant details can be stored. Other compositions can be stored for structured composites, blends, welds, and adhesives.

An extensible framework has also been created to store details of how a material is processed. Where a material is subject to multiple processing steps, the sequence is also captured. Processes include casting, forming, forging, heat treatments and sub-treatment steps, injection molding and extrusion.

The solution also provides material certifications and availability. In addition, the CAE Modeler has been updated to be compatible with the latest SolidWorks 2013 release.
