Meggit Sensing Systems has been selected by The Boeing Company to supply mission-critical technologies for NASA's Space Launch System (SLS). The SLS is a new heavy-lift rocket for deep space exploration.

Meggitt’s high-performing accelerometers, microphones and pressure transducers were selected to measure acceleration, acoustics and pressure. This vehicle will provide a new capability for science and human exploration beyond Earth’s orbit as the largest launch vehicle ever built, the company states.

"Very early on in the SLS project, NASA and Boeing acknowledged the value Meggitt brought to the table by allowing us to help define the technologies that would perform best in various launch environments and assist in recognizing challenges that would have an impact on the success of the program," said Daniel Rosales, vice president and general manager of Meggitt Sensing Systems, Orange County. "We were delighted to welcome Astronaut Arnold along with the representatives from NASA and Boeing to showcase our operations and the professionals who work on this and other mission-critical endeavors."
