Meteodyn announced the release of its WT 4.5 CFD software for wind resource assessment, site suitability and production optimization.

The new release features a large pre-processing time improvement, according to the company. Site checking and directional computation time has been reduced by a factor of 3 to 5. There are newly available standard formats for topographical data (shape and tiff files), and a roughness database is now available.

The new overlapping feature allows users to define neighboring forests with several forest densities. The new elevation smoothing algorithm is available for divergence due to sharp terrain, enabling a better convergence rate.
