MIDAS Information Technology, a Korean-based supplier of civil, structural and mechanical engineering software and consulting services, and a supplier of computer-aided engineering (CAE) software for architectural and civil engineering, has deployed D-Cubed from Siemens PLM Software. The company will use the D-Cubed 2D Dimensional Constraint Manager (2D DCM) and 3D Dimensional Constraint Manager (3D DCM) geometric constraint solving software components in a new CAE solution aimed at the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) market, including civil engineering.
Our evaluation of geometric constraint solving software components confirmed the feedback we received from all the experts we consulted, who strongly recommended Siemens PLM Softwares D-Cubed 2D DCM and 3D DCM, said Dae-Seock Shin, director of R&D, MIDAS IT.We selected these components because they meet all of our needs, are very reliable and open, and are the industrys most widely used solutions for geometric constraint solving, with a strong reputation among their customers.
The new CAE solution will use Siemens' Parasolid to power its 3D geometry engine. It will also use the 2D DCM to support its parametric sketcher and the 3D DCM to support its constraint-based assembly part-positioning capability.
