New Multi-Model Simulation Platform from IFP and D2T Powertrain

Models from different software solutions can interact in powertrain, engine design.

IFP Energies Nouvelles (IFPEN) and D2T Powertrain Engineering have launched xMOD, a new model integration software platform. The product allows models from different tools to work together in a single environment. It can also be used with Hardware in the Loop (HiL) test benches.

According to the companies, xMOD can simplify complex industrial system development by allowing models from a variety of software (Matlab/Simulink, AMESim, Dymola, GT-Power, SimulationX and Code C/C++) to interact.
 
The software was designed to fit the requirements of all stakeholders involved in the development process, the companies said, and it is designed to give engineers from various professions control over the entire process. User interfaces can be customized and confidentiality management is integrated.
 
It can also be used on HiL validation benches for engine control unit (ECU) and, for some components, even on engine or powertrain test benches, providing a single working environment, from design through to validation. This facilitates communication between departments.
