Océ Unveils Project Velocity

Digital, large-format color technology prints up to 15 times faster than conventional aqueous inkjet.

Oce, a Canon Group company, announced its first fully integrated and automated large format printing system based on Memjet technology. Project Velocity is a product concept that combines Oce's expertise in productive printing and workflow for large format environments with Memjet's high-speed digital color printing technology.

Project Velocity is designed for printing applications such as disposable point of sale posters, CAD, GIS, and event graphics. The result of more than three years of joint engineering and product development, Velocity prints up to 15 times faster than conventional aqueous inkjet systems, the company says.

The unit can print up to 500 3 ft. by 4 ft. prints per hour, stacked and cut to size; includes six integrated media rolls up to 42 in. wide, with 13,650 square feet of online capacity; and has a dual tray integrated capacity stacker.
