Phase3D, a company vested in real-time, in-situ inspection for additive manufacturing, has released the Fringe Inspection M2 Series 5 Kit. The company is bringing its measurement-based quality assurance technology to the GE Additive (Colibrium Additive) M2 Series 5 metal additive manufacturing platform.
Available September 16, the M2 Series 5 Kit allows manufacturers to see, and measure, every layer of a build in real time, enabling earlier defect detection, improved yield, and a traceable record of the manufacturing process.
“The M2 Series 5 is a workhorse of metal additive manufacturing, and with this release, we’re giving operators the ability to see, and measure, every layer in real time,” says Niall O’Dowd, PhD, founder and CEO of Phase3D. “The ASTRO America Challenge, a national competition to advance in-situ monitoring for AM, gives us the opportunity to demonstrate that unit-based, actionable inspection can make AM more reliable, scalable, and cost-effective.”
Fringe Inspection delivers objective, unit-based measurement data for every layer, ensuring that qualification can be achieved.
The Fringe Inspection M2 Series 5 Kit connects to GE Additive (Colibrium Additive) M2 Series 5 systems. It can be installed and calibrated in under 24 hours and is designed for fully reversible integration, restoring the printer to its original configuration if required, according to Phase3D.
Like the recently launched Fringe Inspection 500Q Kit, this solution enables manufacturers to detect process deviations before they become defects; ensure process stability across builds and machines; and create a permanent, traceable build record for qualification and audits.
The Fringe Inspection M2 Series 5 Kit will be available to order on September 16 through the Phase3D Online Store (click here). For questions on compatibility, installation, or technical specifications, contact [email protected].
