On May 30, 2008, InnovMetric concluded the greatest PolyWorks User Meeting in its history in Montreal,Canada. After 3 days of hard work and fun, “success” was on everyone’s lips.

IPUM 2008 attracted more than 200 participants from all around the world: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico, Singapore, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, and USA.

Keynotes speakers included: Dirk Kissinger, Opel (Germany); Lay Knoerr, General Motors (USA); Chris Simmons, Rolls-Royce (United Kingdom); Glenn Hill, Honda R&D Americas (USA); Dallas Taft, Honeywell (USA); Nicholas Herath, 3D Spatial (Australia); Ian Kennedy, Manchester Metropolitan University (United Kingdom); and Travis Chometsky, Weatherford (Canada).

The 3D Digitizer Expo allowed 20 of the most important players in the industry to present the benefits of bundling their 3D digitizers with the PolyWorks software suite. This exhibition demonstrated the universality of PolyWorks and capabilities to adapt to various technologies such as laser scanning, white-light digitizing, hard-probing, and photogrammetry-based digitizing. Their participation was greatly appreciated and ensured IPUM’s place as a key event in the point-cloud-engineering world.

IPUM 2008 activities included:

•Unveiling of PolyWorks V11 and presentation of the new features
•Presentations on PolyWorks applications by users from the industry
•The IPUM 3D Digitizer Expo, a gathering of 20 3D digitizer manufacturers
•Training sessions and workshops with InnovMetric’s Application Specialists
•On-site technical support and “doctor’s office” meetings
