Rescale, a digital engineering platform made for the AI era, has expanded its platform by launching Rescale Data Intelligence. Rescale's integrated platform approach accelerates modeling and simulation workflows at the core of the product development process by combining cloud computing, data, and the speed of artificial intelligence (AI), the company reports.

Rescale Data Intelligence establishes an R&D data foundation by enabling access to legacy siloed engineering data alongside ongoing creation of new simulation data. The unified data fabric automatically captures metadata as simulations run and synchronizes with external systems of record, resulting in a traceable, up-to-date digital thread that can be queried across all systems and acted on with agents, the company reports.

"The new Rescale platform is about running simulation, extracing all of the metadata for analysis, bundling it as a data set, and developing surrogate models," said Jacob Surber, VP of Product at Rescale. "It creates a virtual cycle of simulation execution to surrogate model development, and sharing that inference across the organization. The whole pipeline gets automated."

Applied AI and Automation

The Rescale platform's expansion integrates data intelligence with advanced AI and automation tools. See how:

  • Building R&D data foundations through a unified data fabric with AI intelligence: By using data intelligence, organizations can eliminate time searching for data and manually tagging workflows, creating a traceable digital thread. Rescale Assistant provides engineers instant access to cross-disciplinary analysis and reporting through natural language queries.
  • Harnessing agentic automation to transform legacy systems of record: Rescale's platform builds workflows around engineers, supporting the foundation for automated repeatability. Simulation agents can proactively orchestrate and automate workflows, transforming data from legacy systems of record into business outcomes.
  • Accelerating R&D discovery with AI Physics methods built on simulation data: The Rescale platform provides the foundation for the AI Physics OS. Built on the new data foundations, the AI Physics OS provides an open ecosystem to train, tune, validate, and publish AI surrogate models. The use of AI Physics enables acceleration of physics calculations for simulation users, designers, and other key stakeholders.

According to Surber, the latter feature allows users to extract metadata from their simulation jobs and automically contribute that to a data set, which in trun can be pulled into the model training process. "Any time you are creating a surrogate model, with our anlysis tools you can identify where the weak points are, and kick off our workflow builder to execute additional simulations, and bolster the data around those weak points in the model. Once you're happy with the model, you can run it in inference, deploy it for AI-based simulations, or share it across the organization," he said.

"The future of engineering won't just be AI-driven, it will be agentic," says Joris Poort, founder and CEO of Rescale. "At Rescale, we're providing that foundation today through a unified data fabric, automating complex workflows through agentic automation, and helping our customers create a durable competitive advantage with digital twins and intelligent R&D assets powered by their own data."
