Roland and MecSoft to Demonstrate Design-to-Model Workflow at SolidWorks World

Roland DGA Corporation and MecSoft, the developer of VisualMILL for SolidWorks and other computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software solutions, will demonstrate a new, seamless subtractive rapid prototyping (SRP) workflow at the upcoming SolidWorks World show in Anaheim, CA.

Located in Booth # 110, MecSoft will showcase its new 64-bit version of VisualMILL for SolidWorks, which it says enables designers to machine larger, more complex parts that were previously cumbersome or impossible to handle due to the memory limitations of 32-bit systems. Throughout the show, MecSoft will produce prototypes and parts on Roland’s MDX-40A 3D milling machine, which features the company’s SRP technology.  Roland’s MDX series integrates with VisualMILL for SolidWorks, and produces parts from non-proprietary materials including aluminum, ABS, Acetal, Nylon, acrylic, polycarbonate, and a variety of woods, plaster, and styrene.  Roland’s MDX-540 series will be on display in the Roland DGA exhibit, Booth # 743. 

“With the new 64-bit version of VisualMILL, more complex files are handled with ease and MDX series tool paths are updated automatically for a seamless workflow from design to finished part,” says Pedro Gonzalez, product manager for Roland.  “This new solution fully integrates SolidWorks design and manufacturing processes and produces parts in materials that meet the requirements of finished parts and products.”
