By DE Editors

March 2, 2016

Saab, a provider of products, services and solutions for military and civil security, has selected Aras to support its product complexity workflow for the the Gripen fighter aircraft. Saab will be using the Innovator and Minerva platforms in partnership with its current PLM (product lifecycle management) platform.

The open architecture of Aras with an open data model, open interfaces and use of open Web standards was important in order to simplify integrations to existing systems in place at Saab, a company press release states.

“Aras will complement our current PLM-landscape here at Business Area Aeronautics,” said Henrik Pettersson, head of Product Data Support at Saab. “It will be used alongside other applications to support us in handling our product data in a correct and efficient way. The Aras business model with subscriptions, combined with the open community where users share investments toward the application, makes it especially valuable for us."
