PTC has announced that Korean defense company Samsung Thales Corporation selected Pro/ENGINEER to displace its previous CAD system. In order to make the choice, Samsung Thales conducted a competitive benchmark earlier in the year to select its next 3D CAD solution. The company is already standardized on PTC Windchill for product lifecycle management (PLM); selecting Pro/ENGINEER extends its use of the PTC Product Development System.

Pro/ENGINEER provides a global design process optimized according to international standards aimed toward securing global competitiveness. The benchmark revealed that PTC Pro/ENGINEER outperformed other solutions both in terms of technical validation and support. Pro/ENGINEERs capabilities coupled with its easy adoption for users were key determinants in Samsung Thales decision to standardize on Pro/ENGINEER. In addition, Samsung Thales has enjoyed a long-term relationship with PTC through its implementation of Windchill for PLM.

Specializing in electric equipment and systems, Samsung Thales looks forward to an expanded strategic relationship with PTC and the opportunity to work with PTC Global Services to extend value from the combination of Pro/ENGINEER and Windchill.
