Tektronix Releases One-Box Solution for MHL 2.1 Testing

Customers can use existing MHL 1.2 and 2.0 setups for MHL 2.1 analysis.

Tektronix announced availability of a new one-box solution for physical and protocol compliance testing for the latest Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) Compliance Test Specification (CTS) 2.1 covering transmitter (Tx), receiver (Rx), dongle and cable testing for both physical (PHY) and protocol layers.

"Like everything mobile, the MHL standard is evolving quickly and it is critical that engineers developing mobile products can turn to a test and measurement provider with support for the latest features and developments," said Brian Reich , general manager, performance oscilloscopes, Tektronix. "Tektronix is closely aligned with the MHL Consortium, which allows us to quickly enhance our solution to meet our customers' test requirements. What's more, customers can use their existing MHL 1.2 and 2.0 setups for MHL 2.1 testing, thus protecting their investments in our solutions."

Tektronix's MHL protocol analyzer software leverages the same real-time oscilloscopes (such as a DPO/DSA/MSO70000 Series) used for physical layer testing to provide a complete MHL protocol test solution, the company says. This one-box solution enables a seamless transition between physical and link layers.

According to Tektronix, testing efficiency is further enhanced with direct synthesis-based Rx and dongle testing that provides accurate MHL signal generation including all of the impairments necessary to meet MHL CTS 2.1 requirements.
