The Design of Implantable Devices Conference Returns to San Diego

MEDevice Forum announces agenda for development conference in September.

UBM Live announced that MEDevice Forum San Diego's Design of Implantable Devices Conference will be held Sept. 19 and 20 at the San Diego Convention Center.

The Design of Implantable Devices Conference focuses on overcoming the challenges faced by those designing medical devices of this specialization. Experienced professionals will deliver case-study sessions on improving total risk management and the most recent components and materials available for use in implantable devices. Attendees will also hear directly from FDA officials about inspection criteria and new regulations surrounding materials.

Speakers include Prabhakar Tamirisa, Battery Research and Technology Group, Medtronic Energy and Components Center; Michael Root, Boston Scientific; Joanne Zeltinger, REVA Medical; and Jim Curtis, Dow Corning.

Conference topics include biological implications of material selection on the wound healing process, an overview of battery technology, silicone biomaterial applications, technology evaluation, new trends in device packaging, and materials testing.
