Software Companions' ViewCompanion version 8 is now shipping. The software is an application for viewing, printing and converting files of multiple formats.

Supported formats include PLT, HPGL/2, HP-RTL, Calcomp, Autodesk DWF, CGM, TIFF, CALS, and more. The update includes full support for Autodesk DWF and DWFx 2D formats, and a new shell extension.

The new release has been tested with Windows 8.1 and is fully compatible with Windows XP (SP3), Server 2003, Server 2008, Server 2012, Vista, 7, 8 and 8.1 (all editions).

The solution is available as three different editions: ViewCompanion Standard, Pro and Premium. The Pro and Premium editions have tools for markup and support for raster formats. The Premium edition can also open PDF files.
