SLM Solutions solidifies its large additive manufacturing systems roadmap, company says.

The solution will enable production of high-quality metal parts up to a size of 3.0x1.2x1.2 meter (LxWxH), SLM Solutions reports. 

The software partner ecosystem is designed to complement its in-house software portfolio to deliver a comprehensive End-to-End additive manufacturing software solution set.

Relationship builds on SLM Solutions’ Open Architecture Initiative, allows Dyndrite software to directly write laser toolpath and parameters to control either single or multi-optic systems and more.

The Canada-based company selected additive manufacturing partner SLM Solutions as its vendor of choice for an additive manufacturing system.

The solution enhances the usage of parts data from the ShipParts.com cloud thanks to Viaccess-Orca's Secure Manufacturing Platform (SMP), a digital assets protection and traceability solution, to enable secure printing on SLM Solutions Selective Laser Melting machine series.

The investment will scale up additive manufacturing capabilities using MacLean’s Formetrix L-40 powder.

Burgmaier introduced case-hardening steel 16MnCr5 to AM, and developed a hybrid-AM process using the SLM 280.  

The SLM 500 is a multi-laser system with up to four 700W lasers working simultaneously.

The partnership reportedly will help both companies reduce printing times and costs.
