4-Channel Oscilloscopes Feature 22 Automatic Measurements

Saelig’s DS 1000B series of four- channel high-performance 2 GSa/s Digital Storage Oscilloscopes now feature 22 automatic measurements and pass/fail capabilities. Tapping the on-screen Measure button activates a selection of automatic measurement functions.

Automatic voltage measurements include: peak-to-peak voltage, maximum amplitude, minimum amplitude, Vtop (square/pulse), Vbase (square/pulse), Vtop - Vbase , overshoot (Vmax-Vtop)/Vamp, preshoot: (Vmin-Vbase)/Vamp, average (arithmetic mea), and Vrms (true root mean square).

In addition, DS1000B series scopes can move cursors automatically to label the values of the 22 parameters in the Measure menu. Automatic measurements are displayed on-screen and updated frequently.

A pass/fail test is one of the enhanced special functions now also available on the DS1000B series. It compares the input signal to an established waveform mask. If the waveform touches the mask, a fail signal occurs, otherwise the test passes. When needed, a programmable opto-isolated output can be activated for external automatic control and production line applications.

Another feature provided with the DS1000B series for viewing repetitive signals buried in noise is the average function, which mathematically removes confusing signal interference. You can select from 2 to 256 averages that best eliminate the appearance of noise from the displayed waveform.

The DS100B's 5.7 TFT color LCD provides a vivid, low-power screen with wide viewing angle for waveform review. With bandwidths up to 200MHz and equivalent sampling for repetitive signals of 50GSa/s, the DS1000B's memory depth of 16kSa provides plenty of information for debugging circuits.
